Georgeanna has been Clinical Director at FamilyWorks since 2012. She became the billing supervisor for case managers in 2022 and has been the case management assistant supervisor since 2014. Prior to her current role, Georgeanna was a therapist and case manager for FamilyWorks and has been working in the mental health field since 2004. Georgeanna holds a BA in Psychology from Georgetown College, an MA in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University and an MAE in Marriage and Family Counseling from Western Kentucky University. She enjoys working with children, adults, couples, and veterans, addressing depression, anxiety, and trauma related issues, utilizing cognitive behavior therapy, solution focused therapy, and aspects of somatic work and Internal Family Systems. Georgeanna spent the first part of her career working directly with individuals with autism and their families, growing her love for and passion to advocate for the individualized needs of children with autism and other special needs. Georgeanna has served as an adjunct instructor at Western Kentucky University in the Counseling and Student Affairs Graduate program, where she taught Internship and has co- taught Diagnosis. Georgeanna is a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Trauma Professional and a Gottman Method Couples Counseling Level 1 trained therapist. She is a KY board approved supervisor and a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor. Georgeanna is working toward becoming a Trauma Research Foundation Affiliate. Georgeanna offers Autism and ADHD assessments.
When not working, Georgeanna enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as baking and decorating cookies, cakes, and cupcakes.
Leslie Green has been Case Management Director since 2008. Prior to her current position, she was a case manager for FamilyWorks Therapy, beginning in 2002. Leslie is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, earning a BS in Psychology in 1998. During her time at EKU, Leslie worked with children with Autism and developed a passion for this population and working with children with special needs. Leslie served as a supervisor at Rivendell behavioral Health Services from 1999-2001. She is also an amateur chef who loves cooking and creating new recipes. Leslie enjoys spending time with friends and family--especially her young son.
Holly is an LPCC in the state of Kentucky and holds her NCC credentialing. She is a Christian, a Mom, and bilingual in American Sign Language and English. Holly has been practicing professional counseling for 7 years. She is an alumni of Western Kentucky University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology accompanied by a minor in American Sign Language. She then went on to complete a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Holly has experience working with anxiety, depression, and clients from the Deaf community. She enjoys working with adolescents and young adults who seek to succeed in finding the best version of themselves. In her counseling space, she encourages self exploration, self confidence, and self authenticity.

Chelsey is a licensed therapist, Certified Partner Trauma Therapist, Registered Play Therapist, and Gottman Method Couples THerapist (Level 1) specializing in narcissistic abuse, toxic relationships, anxiety, children's issues, and interpersonal trauma. In her work as a trauma therapist, she helps betrayed partners of sex/porn addicts process these hurts and learn how to set healthy boundaries, make self-honoring choices, and gain new hope. As a Registered Play Therapist, Chelsey helps children gain effective social and communication skills to build their self-esteem and ability to form positive relationships. Chelsey works with couples to improve the foundation of their relationship and to address any toxi cinterpersonal patterns. Chelsey is also a Christian-based counselor and offers sound therapeutic solutions that compliment a Bible-based perspective on life.
Karen earned her Bachelors degree in psychology and criminology from East Tennessee State University and Master's degree in mental health counseling from Western Kentucky University. She began her career at FamilyWorks
as a Case Manager 2011 and became a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor
Karen is also a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She serves as an adjunct professor in Counseling Department at Western Kentucky University, where she teaches Play Therapy, Advanced Play Therapy and Expressive Therapies in Counseling. Karen has previously worked in community mental health, local school systems and the juvenile justice system. Additionally, she has experience working with the National Disaster Response Team through the American Red Cross. She is also Gottman Method Couples Counseling Levels 1 & 2 trained. Karen enjoys working with children, adolescents, college students, military/veterans, family, and marriage/couples, utilizing Trauma, grief, art therapy, sand therapy, play therapy, and cognitive therapy. Karen enjoys traveling and photographing the places she has traveled. She also enjoys yoga, scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with family. Karen especially enjoys Bruster's chocolate raspberry ice cream and made from scratch chicken & dumplings--yum!

Racheal Carter is a licensed mental health therapist that has worked with FamilyWorks Therapy since 2018. She works with children, teens, and adults focusing on anxiety, depression, and behavior disorders. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2016 from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her Masters degree in 2018 from WKU.
Mary Elisabeth "Lissie" Higdon is a licensed mental health therapist that started working at FamilyWorks Therapy in 2018. She finds joy working with clients of all ages and differing mental health issues. She has worked with children, teens, and adults, who struggle with anxiety, depression, and behavior disorders, just to name a few. She got her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Western Kentucky University and went on to receive a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her area of expertise is working with children and young adults who struggle with anxiety and depression, In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family as we well as her 3 fur babies.

April is a licensed mental health therapist that began her career with FamilyWorks in 2021. She received her BA in Psychology from Murray State University and went on to receive her MAE in Marriage and Family Counseling from Western Kentucky University. April's training, education, and experience has allowed her to address an array of concerns ranging from trauma, bereavement, interpersonal relationships, process addictions and erotically marginalization as well as many others. She has been trained in level 1 and 2 brainspotting therapy, which has allowed her to aid clients with accessing and processing traumatic events, negative emotions, and pain. She has also received training in two level of Gottman Method Couples Therapy. April is a Nationally Certified Counselor, has received and Addictions Education Certificate, and will be completing her Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider certification in September of this year. April is also working toward becoming and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
Karen has an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and an MA in Corporate Communication from Western Kentucky University. She enjoys working with teenagers, young adults, adults couples and premarital couples. Along with using many evidence based theories of counseling, Karen also enjoys utilizing faith based counseling when working with clients.
Kylee graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Addictions Certificate in May of 2021. She began her career at FamilyWorks as an intern and became a Licensed therapy in 2021. Kylee is passionate about working with children to develop a positive self-concept, become more self-directing, and become sensitive to the process of coping through the child's natural form of communication---play. She is currently training to become a Registered Play Therapist. Kylee sees client of varying ages, primarily at the Bowling Green office as well as through telehealth, In her free time she enjoys noting more than spending time with her family and friends.
Jim specializes in anger management and oppositional defiant behaviors. He has previously worked at Lifeskills. He holds a M.A. in Psychology. Not only does Jim accept all forms of Medicaid, he also accepts private pay and several private insurances as well.

Alicia has worked at FamilyWorks Therapy for over 15 years. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents. Alicia has previously worked at Rivendell, LifeSkills, and Lindsey Wilson College. She earned her BA and MA at Lindsey Wilson College with a focus on Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Counseling. Additionally, Alicia is a KY board approved clinical supervisor.
Brian has had a long history of working with children and their families. This service began with getting a Bachelor of Art in Ministry degree. He was a youth minister from 1992-2019 ministering to and serving families and their children. Brian, feeling the need to have more tools to help families, went back to school for his Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy degree at Campbellsville University at age 48. Now Brian is fully licensed as an LMFT and loves helping
families navigate the struggles life sometimes throws at them. Brian’s combined years of service to families and their children has given him much insight into family dynamics and struggles. Brian‘s training and tools which he uses to help others includes, but is not limited to:
cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy techniques, and a structural family approach.
Matthew was born and raised in the Bowling Green community. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University in 200 and his Master's in marriage and family therapy from WKU in 2009.
His time at FamilyWorks began in the Fall of 2009. FamilyWorks has afforded him the opportunity to gain experience working with a diverse collection of clients. Matthew provides home and school-based services to children across the age spectrum from elementary to high school. He has also worked extensively with adults seeking individual counseling as well as couples seeking to strengthen their relationships in marriage therapy.
Matthew believes his role as a therapist is to strike an accurate balance between providing appropriate ideas/interventions, providing support that clients need, and challenging clients to strive for their potential.
Clients who choose to entrust Matthew with providing therapy can expect consistency and hard work. Matthew is happy to be in the position of serving his community and trying to help clients achieve the goals they are set on reaching.
Erin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been with FamilyWorks since 2013, spending the second half of her 22 year career focusing on assisting others in meeting their mental health needs, initially through the role of case manager and eventually therapy. The first half of her career was working within the field of Child Protective Services. The knowledge and experiences gained though assisting families and/or individuals she encountered though her time with CPS have been very valuable to the clients she has served in all capacities and most recently those who she currently serves as therapist. Erin is currently working on becoming and EMDR-trained clinician in order to integrate EMDR into her clinical practice. Erin primarily sees clients in the Barren County office.
Nikki enjoys working with individuals throughout the life span and serves the Logan and Simpson County areas. She has worked within FamilyWorks in multiple ways since 2018 from Targeted Case manager, intern, office staff, and now as a Licensed Therapist. She has a BA in Sociology with a double minor in Criminology and Sexuality Studies and an MAE in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Western Kentucky University. She has a passion for encouraging, supporting, and connecting with today's youth. Nikki believes in bringing attention to self-awareness and thought patterns to help others understand their behaviors and choices in their own journey. When she isn't working Nikki's life is all about her FURamily and being outside.

Morgan graduated December 2019 from Campbellsville University with a degree in psychology. She is completed master’s in mental health counseling along with an addictions certification from Western Kentucky University in May of 2023. She has experience working with special education children in the school setting. Morgan has experience working with a variety of individuals in the counseling setting ranging from teenagers to adults.

Courtney completed her BA in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Organization Law Enforcement Leadership in 2014 from American Military University. She is an Army combat veteran, and spent the last 8 years with the KY Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer. She completed her M.Ed. in Counseling From Lindsey Wilson College in August 2023. Her experience includes working with those in crisis and justice-involved persons and her passion includes working with fellow veterans and their families. She is a wife, mother and world traveler.
Glory graduated from Western Kentucky University with her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May of 2022. Glory has studied coursework in Gottman’s Couples Counseling, Trauma healing, and Telehealth. Glory is currently working toward a Trauma Certification. Glory enjoys working with clients of all ages and has worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and trauma. Glory primarily sees clients in the Bowling Green office and via telehealth. In her free time, Glory enjoys spending time with her fur baby and attending concerts.
Alexis received her masters in counseling at Western Kentucky University in the Spring of 2022. She specializes in encouraging and empathizing with clients. She has experience with couples and college students; however, she enjoys working with all individuals. She wants to help her clients grow to their best selves by assisting them with reaching their goals.
Chase graduated with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University with a concentration in School Counseling in May 2023. He graduated from WKU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Music Education and taught instrumental music for four years. Through this teaching experience, he gained essential skills in working with children, adolescents, and their families and developed a desire to work with individuals outside of the classroom.
As a counseling student, Chase incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Play Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy informed techniques and interventions when working with individuals. While most of his experience is in working with children and adolescents as an educator, he is prepared to work with all ages and has experience in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship challenges, and self-esteem. Chase sees clients at the Bowling Green office or through Telehealth.
Amy is a licensed mental health counselor and holds her NCC credentialing. She views counseling as a partnership between client and therapist and provides a safe, accepting space for clients to gain insight and progress, emphasizing personal empowerment. Amy enjoys working with clients of all ages with concerns including anxiety and depression, trauma, addiction recovery, phase of life concerns, and personal growth.
Amy completed her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a graduate certificate in Addictions Education at Western Kentucky University, and is currently a first year Ph.D. student in Counselor Education at the University of Cincinnati. Amy is also trained in EMDR, Trauma focused CBT, and Gottman Couples Counseling Level 2. Prior to joining FamilyWorks, Amy worked with clients at LifeSkills and HopeBridge. She is working towards full EMDR certification. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagle (Go Birds!).

Malissa began her career in the classroom. She holds a BA in Elementary Education, an MA in Elementary Counseling, and a Rank I in Secondary Counseling. Malissa was a teacher for 11 years and then became a school counselor. She served as school counselor in the Allen County school system (middle and high schools) for 23 years. After retiring from Allen County Schools, Malissa felt a calling to serve children through outpatient counseling. She has been working at FamilyWorks Therapy as an LPCA since 2020. Malissa has been married for over 40 years, has 4 adult children, and 3 grandchildren. Malissa feels very blessed to be a counselor.

Brooke graduated from Western Kentucky University with her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May of 2022. Brooke will be an adjunct professor through WKU's Department of Counseling and Student Affairs starting in the Fall of 2022, teaching the CNS 110 Human Relations course. She has studied coursework in play therapy and has trained in Brainspotting, Trauma healing, Gottman's Couples Counseling, and Telehealth. She previously worked at the LifeSkills Children's Crisis Unit as a Residential Associate. Above all else, Brooke values a genuine, empathetic, and judgment free client-therapist connection. Brook see client's at the Bowling Green office, Scottsville office, and on Telehealth based on the client's discretion.
Zack is a 2021 graduate of Western Kentucky University where is received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He is now pursuing his master’s in clinical mental health counseling through the University of the Cumberlands. Zack has experience working in adult and child crisis services along with working in residential substance use disorder treatment. In his free time, Zack enjoys weightlifting, traveling to new countries, martial arts, car shows, and playing with his pups – Maria and Leonard. He is very excited to be completing his internship here at our agency and to expand his knowledge within the counseling field!
Hannah is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling at Western Kentucky University. She has 5 years of experience as an 8th grade math teacher and has extensive experience working with children. However, she enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. In her free time, Hannah enjoys strengthening her mind-body connection by practicing yoga, biking, running, or spending time with her family. She is passionate about helping her clients develop their own mind-body connection to live a full and present life.
Carolyn is a 2020 graduate of Western Kentucky University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at WKU, along with an addictions certificate. Carolyn has experience working in crisis services with children and as a case manager for adolescents and young adults. Carolyn is currently working to complete training for using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is eager to work with individuals of all ages.
Abri is a Louisville native that is currently a graduate student at Western Kentucky University and is pursuing her master's in clinical mental health counseling. She graduated from WKU in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Abri’s passion to help others developed during her experience as a dental assistant. With her own unique and diverse upbringing, she is excited that this new journey as a counselor will allow her to continue to work with individuals of various backgrounds and serve those in her community. In her free time, Abri enjoys painting, doing yoga, spending time with loved ones, and trying new foods. She is looking forward to working with you all!
Amanda is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Education in Counseling at Western Kentucky University for Clinical Mental Health Counseling with anticipated graduation in May 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts with concentrations in communications and biological sciences from Excelsior University and also attended Murray State University. Amanda enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds as varied as her own. She brings a unique perspective to person-centered therapy due to her past professional background in manufacturing, finance, healthcare, advertising, marketing, art, and community volunteerism. Amanda spends her free time appreciating nature, loving her cats, and having fun with her family.
